What is multichannel marketing?

We can also call this holistic marketing!

So multichannel marketing, or holistic marketing, uses the mixture of many channels into a single strategy to attract customers, clients, and followers.

Taking parts of different channels and platforms to promote your product or service can give a well-rounded overview to potential clients and make marketing to different target audiences more specific.

The platforms that you can utilise are probably some of the ones you are using right now! They can include email, website, Instagram, Facebook groups, TikTok, Youtube, and/or podcasting. Using multiple platforms in your one strategy can really help businesses reach a wider pool of potential clients, and can allow those clients to consume the brand’s content in a way that suits them!

Finding the RIGHT channels for multichannel marketing

This comes down to working out what the purpose is for ALL the channels, seeing what you need from them and how they will help with your specific goals.

At Content Queen, we decided that at the start of the year we would write down the different purposes of each channel and what we would use it for. We realised that while some channels are great for selling (like email marketing) others are better for nurturing and connecting with our audience (like Instagram). Each platform has its own reason to be used, and you can determine this! You don’t have to follow what everyone else is using each platform for, your business is unique to you and so should be your content strategy around each platform.

So, utilise each channel to your advantage and stick to what works for your target audience.

How to know what channel you should use in your business

We’ve got a very simple and quick solution to this, take the Content Queen Quiz!

Our brand new quiz will tell you exactly what channel suits you best so you can feel aligned when creating content and make the most of your time. The quiz is free to take and will only take about 5 minutes of your time for instant results.

So have a think about what channels you’d like to show up on and the content you love to create, then take the quiz and apply that to your strategy! If you’d like to make a start and get results, click here to get going!

How to implement the right content channels in your business

By now, if you’ve stopped and taken the quiz, you should know what channel best suits your business, but what comes after this?

Implementation of course! So, how do we do this?

Do the research. Look into how to use the platform, how to create content on the platform, and most importantly, look at your stats on the channels you use currently. Those numbers can tell you a lot about what is working for your business and where you can improve before moving or focusing on another channel.

Success stories of multichannel marketing

Multichannel marketing can bring so much success, so we wanted to share some of the Content Queen success stories with you by using a holistic approach to marketing!

1. The Instagram leadership coach

We had a client who was creating on Instagram each week, however, we soon found that Youtube and LinkedIn would work better as main channels. So, we focussed on these channels instead and it made creating so much easier, we saw more traffic come through the website and it helped the content be more intentional.

2. Holistic business coach on LinkedIn

This coach was receiving lots of traffic from Instagram, so to play on this, we introduced longer form content like a blog and podcast which would then trail down to Instagram and promote the website. Through this strategy change she received 1on1 clients and thrived in her business!

3. Content Queen on all the channels

We have been helping entrepreneurs start blogging even before we had resources, guides, and templates like we do now as part of The Content Queen Membership

We love blogging so much because it works so well for the Content Queen team! But before we found this out, we were balancing all the channels and creating unique content for each one - WAY too much work.

Now we’ve discovered that creating the blog allows us to also create for every other channel we have as a flow-down effect. It cuts our time to create in half and allows us to stay relevant and concise on all channels!

Final Thoughts

Overall, we wanted to share these stories and our experiences with you to show you that different businesses can thrive on different channels! You just need to find the right platform for you (by taking the Content Queen Quiz) and create content with intention.

The platform you use, no matter how many, if it is the right one, will help you on your way to success in your content creation and your business as a whole. So, find out what it is today and go for it!
