What is a marketing strategy?

To start let’s have a look at the basics. What is a marketing strategy?

Overall, it is a plan that pushes you to reach marketing goals and achieve them in a focused way. A content marketing strategy also takes into account what your current business ventures are and allows you to see what’s missing when looking at the goals and objectives you’ve set.

Why does it look at your objectives? So you’re more likely to accomplish what you’ve set out to do!

Your content marketing strategy is an element of your marketing strategy, it focuses on the content portion and allows you to execute your plan with direction and reach the goals you want to reach. This is why it is important to understand these things and get them organised for your business.

82% of marketers are interested in a content marketing strategy, so take your chance to get one now. To get a marketing strategy in your back pocket, make sure to check out the FREE Content Queen marketing strategy template! You can use this to organise and put in place your content strategy.

The 3 C’s to a marketing strategy

Now that we know what a marketing strategy is, let’s explore the 3 C’s and what they mean.

The first C is Content

  • This is all that is involved with your social media, email marketing, and website.

  • You can create content on any channel you like; whether that be blogs, podcasts, or videos on Youtube.

The second C is Connection

  • Connection is all about networking and engaging with your target audience, messaging other small business owners/ founders in your niche and similar businesses, and creating interactive content.

  • Connection is also making sure everything works together, including your paid marketing and organic marketing, as well as your content marketing with your influencer marketing.

  • Nothing is separate, it all works together.

  • You can connect and engage in Facebook Groups (join as many aligned groups as you want!)

  • All of this is great to get word-of-mouth referrals from people you have met.

The final C is Collab

  • This is anything that will collaborate with the content you have

  • Paid marketing is a type of collaboration, this can include Facebook Ads, Google ads or other paid advertising.

  • Collabs can also happen with user-generated content (UGC). These are things like testimonials, ultimately getting your audience to create content for you.

  • You can also collaborate with influencers and other businesses (going live or being a guest on a podcast or blog are great ways to do this)

How to use the 3 C’s in your strategy?
