Three factors you need to think about when living a laptop lifestyle

Running a business and travelling the world sounds like the dream to me. When I recently travelled Europe, it was a great opportunity for me to see how I would go at living this laptop lifestyle and to be honest, I loved it. But there are factors you need to think about when living the laptop lifestyle.

Let’s dive into the three factors I think are important when first starting this journey.

Tired

Yes, you WILL be tired if you try to fit 100,000 countries into a short amount of time. When I travelled to Europe for six weeks I saw 14 different countries, so yes I was VERY tired.

It might not look it here, but I was exhausted!

My best advice is, stay in places more than 3-4 nights. If you can stay weeks, even better! It gives you more time to explore, relax and obviously work.

If you are travelling between countries and even cities at a rapid pace, you will burn out and be extremely tired. I think I am still tired from Europe and I've been back for three weeks!

Travelling solo or with people

Now, this is a big decision you have to make. You might have a partner or a friend who wants to come with you. Travelling with people always takes a good level of communication and compromise.

Travelling with friends is the BEST

So my big tip for those wanting to travel with people, be open and honest. Make sure they understand you will need time alone to get work done, you will need to make some sacrifices to show up for your clients.

BUT, if you can, travel solo, meet new people, learn to be comfortable in your own company!

Routine

We all love routine, we are after all creatures of habit in some way or another. Some like being more spontaneous than others, but most of us have some form of routine.

Break the routine, enjoy the travel - smell the roses (or in this case, flowers)

So that is why you need to learn that breaking routine is OKAY and healthy! It makes us grateful and it makes us see things in a WHOLE new light!

If you really hate breaking routine, stay in places longer so you can form your own routine before you more on to the next place.

Don't be hard on yourself, forming new routines keeps things interesting!!!

Final thoughts

Travelling and working for yourself is honestly so much FUN! It is a whole new level of freedom.

The sights you see!
