Each week you will be given a new stamp on your passport and by the end of the 90 days, you'll be on your way to explore the world of content marketing as a solo traveller. Seatbelts on, we're ready to take off. Hello gang, yes it's back. If you have been a long time listener, long time fan, this is my campaign around the world in 90 days.
So it is 90 days of really helping you shape the way that you market your business in the form of content creation. We know it is one of the biggest ways to market our business. We didn't start our business to become content creators, I totally get it. And here we are. But if you're on this journey, I'm so excited.
Make sure you're joined the mailing list because you'll be getting your fun little passport and stamp. You can sign up via the link in the show notes, but I really want to do a new way of, or a new form of this campaign this year. And really it's come from a lot of conversations with Mitch, my partner, if you know Mitch, um, you would have seen him a lot on socials.
And basically we were talking about, uh, And one thing he said to me is something you're really good at with your clients is helping them really understand, but also enjoy the process of creating content to market their business, to show up on social media. And it's something that I think really, And it was interesting because when we were in Brisbane doing content for some of our clients, one of them was saying to me how she's very left brain, um, she works in finance and how she's found herself being really right brain.
And it's so, so exciting, but also like scary because she's never had that experience before. And this reminded me of a quote that one of my clients, and she's going to be a guest in the next episode, is she shared with me a quote that she heard from South by Southwest, and it was really along the lines of using AI in ChatGPT.
It's just an AI quote. is like getting the helicopter to the top of Everest and not actually doing the journey yourself. And this was really interesting and it's one of my favorite quotes, happiness is a journey, not a destination. I think a lot of the times we're always looking for this shortcut on how to Get clients into our business, how to do this, how to do that, how to create content as quickly as possible and smash it out and get a year's worth of content in five minutes.
But then we're not actually enjoying the process and the journey. And then it's really hard to connect with your audience because energy is really important in this. collaboration, especially as entrepreneurs, when we're really passionate about our business, your client really feels that energy of you.
And if you're creating content from a different energy, it's really hard for them to get an idea of what it is like to work with you, because that's one of the first times they see you if they're cold audiences through social media and content and the like. So if they're just getting their first impression of what you're delivering on online, and that's not really a good representation of you, Because you're not enjoying the energy in the process, then you kind of get where I'm going with this, right?
So when you realize that yes, strategy is a massive part of your business and your marketing, and I'm huge on that. And you pair that with your own worth, your confidence, your mindset, and really enjoying that journey. Then you create something pretty magic. And I want to talk about the campaign and what it's going to look like and sort of share what led to this journey.
But basically it was these conversations of enjoying the process. And a big thing for me at the moment is my mindset journey. And I had this, um, I was doing some market research for another business owner and she's writing a white paper. And she asked me like, what's the one thing holding you back in your business?
And I said, me and my mindset. And I think you get to this point where you realize like, actually it's all me. It's, you know, I've, I think first you've got to have all the foundations in place, the strategy and all that. But then you get to this point where you're like, it's just me holding me back. There's no one else like, come on, you know, lift your So really, um, The insights of this campaign started last year when I realized, you know, I did some deep digging and obviously like we always start our small business to work more than what we were in a corporate job and on average work about 52 hours per week.
And, but really like, that's kind of how it is, right? When you start a business and you love it, you tend to work more hours. And I think being a business owner, you unlock a whole new personal journey. Like it's a mindset shift massively. Right. But I. started this talking about that kind of time and energy, but really now I think it's more about us and it's about the process and the journey.
And I know some people go like, Oh, I don't like the word journey, but like really there's no other word. It is a process. It's a journey. It's an experience. And really it's about understanding what you like and how you can show up to best serve someone. And that's where that like storytelling elements come in.
And I recently saw someone that did my content bootcamp share an email about how, you know, she's been struggling with how she should show up and she should do this and she should do that because there's all these experts opinions. But really, she's like, you know what, I don't want to do any of that. So I'm just going to show up like this.
And that's what it's about, right? It's understanding and finding and yes, okay. We want to learn the best Best shortcuts and the biggest ways to, um, move forward in our business. But it really is that journey. The to do list is never going to end. Marketing your business, unfortunately is never going to end unless you sell it.
And, and even when you outsource it, I, my clients are still marketing. I'm not doing it all like we're working together. It's a collaborative process. So you just got to learn to love it. So that's what we're doing in this 90 days. We're going to help you learn to enjoy and love the process and work through those sort of mindset shifts to do that.
Now I'm not mindset coach. I'm not, that's not what I want to do at all, but I think it's very interesting how this marketing mindset concept is becoming more prevalent and more known and more like, hang on, this is actually what's holding me back. When I stop caring less about what people think, when I, Start enjoying the process of content creation.
That is actually when the biggest shifts happen. You reach more people, people become more attracted to your energy and you build more authenticity. Now we did a really great podcast episode with Zoe about authenticity. I'll link it in the show notes for you to go back and watch, but that's why I thought this campaign needed to make a shift from like time freedom.
And actually, you know what it is when you love the process, when you work on your mindset, when you have the strategy as well, paired with that, Of course, like you're going to save that kind of time and you're going to have more impact, but it really does help with. And I think that is just what we're lacking.
So, as I mentioned last year, it was all about saving time and it wasn't about a shortcut. It was about creating the freedom and that was what that theme was really about was more the freedom. But I think the messaging now has really tweaked into this next step, which is that mindset and enjoying that process of creating content because it can take you really as long as you allow it to.
I don't want people to think that like having a strategy means that I create like a year's worth of content that I don't resonate with. And that's what it's about. It's not about that. But that time saving element was really about you stepping into your freedom and having that strategy does save time.
But I've come to realize that actually the biggest transformation is learning to enjoy that process and learning to focus on your own mindset to help you create stuff that's really going to resonate with those people. And that's why the guests that I'm going to have come on in the next 90 days, I've got like mindset and energy people.
Like we're going to go a little bit different. Of course, we're going to have some more marketing stuff. I've got, um, marketing experts lined up, but I just really wanted to go down this path of like, let's try something different because actually that's the biggest thing I've worked on this year is my mindset.
And I've seen it shift in my business. I've seen myself double my, revenue each month. And I've seen, you know, shifts in my, in the way I'm showing up. And I think this is a process. Obviously I am still working on it. It's not perfect. And I just want to get people to come on and help you. So to create great content, it all does come down to you to create content.
That's going to change your business in terms of share, be seen in front of the people that you want and to be energetic and aligned to the people that are going to buy from you. It is a massive energy shift. And. We're going to change that. Uh, as I said, not an expert in mindset coach. I'm going to teach you strategy.
It's going to help shift your mindset in terms of having your own content marketing training is going to shift your mindset. And I'm going to get experts to come on and fill the gaps. But the third thing is what has helped me mentors. support, reading, reading a lot. I've read so many, not personal development books, books about like everything and anything, health, spirituality, and that's helped me more than like a um, four hour work week, which I imagine is a great book.
I haven't read it, but like I haven't read any business books this year. I have read purely personal development books and it's amazing how those things can be super tangible and help me rethink things in marketing. Most of Mitch and my conversations is what we've read in a book and how it translates to what we do in our business.
So it's very interesting journaling a lot and a lot of inner work. My goal for 2024 was to invest heavily in my health development. Like I've been seeing practitioners, naturopaths. all different people to help work on me. Obviously I had a massive, um, I'm not massive, but a bump in the road when my thyroid played up and that was causing a lot of anxiety for me, but it was what I needed to make the shift to make more changes.
And that again has helped me up level. And it's not even just about how I've created content online. Like besides the point, it's just helped me show up better for myself, my clients and my business. So yeah, that's it. What does all this have to do with content marketing? Like it's a bit deep, right? But if we connect back to this whole journey, how this is just a process, right?
Like, um, you don't go to the gym to then one day conquer the gym. You go to the gym to build the process of becoming fitter. And once you reach that goal, there's always another goal. And now there's like a Tony Robbins quote that it's like, it's not about the goal, it's the person that you become to achieve that goal.
And that's really what it's about, right? Like when you've got that energy and you're always keen to learn and you know you can never go wrong as long as you're always learning and you're showing up, that's when that energy in your content, like you don't care about, of course we're gonna measure and we're gonna be strategic and all that, but you bring in sort of this like different energy that's like, you know what, that post didn't work.
It's sort of about like Oh, that like I posted like a whole month's worth of this content. That topic didn't resonate or whatever. It's about like good marketing, good marketers, good business owners go. That's a lesson. That's not a, Oh, well, I'm never creating content again. I hate content creation. I hate marketing.
Da da da. It's like, no, what can I learn from this? And I saw this really powerful, um, Instagram reel years ago. And it was like, had all these like videos of, you know, increased reach, um, increased followers. increased likes. And then it was like, good marketers get you this great market to show you how to get out of this.
And it was like all really low, you know, metrics, everything down. And that's what it's about. Like creating that really great content is understanding what I need to do when things are bad as well. And if you've got that mindset, that inner confidence, that self belief, you also put on a different lens to be able to get yourself into an new phase.
Like I had a really lull in my content a couple of months ago and I was like, okay, well, what do I gotta do to get out of this? And I worked on it from a different perspective. So this campaign is really different from the last one. I, it's still the same objective is to really help you with this kind of free lifestyle.
That's why it's like travel related. But free lifestyle can look different for so many people and maybe it's being mentally free to just enjoy showing up for your business, you know, to not go, oh, okay, when everything is done, then I'll be happy. It's about enjoying that process and one of my favorite quotes, which was happiness is a journey, not a destination.
It was like the beginning of that quote is quite long and it's like, Um, when I have enough money to buy a house, then I'll be happy. When I've paid off my house loan, then I'll be happy. When I have kids, then I'll be happy. When my kids are old enough to sustain themselves, then I'll be happy. You know, it's always, then I'll be happy.
Then I'll be happy. And it's like this with even your marketing, your business, Oh, once I get to X amount of followers or one, then I know I'll get enough sales. When I get to 10 K months, 20 K months, then I'll be sustainable. Cool. But there's always another thing. So let's, why don't we just find a way to enjoy the process while we're in it?
And that's why this like around the world in 90 days is about being part of that journey and just learning to enjoy it, not to get that end goal all the time, because the end goal. never ends. Unfortunately, there's always a new goal, but we can give you the foundations and the strategy to support your journey.
So you can feel really great about what you're putting out there for your audience to see. Cause again, first impression, it's your shop window. You can Feel good and energetic. It's not a bore or a chore or something that's gonna drain your energy It's something that you're really going to be passionate about and enjoy because it's talking about what you love It's talking about what you can help people with and then with this we can weave in those beautiful stories and the things that really help us connect deep with our audience because I know you're here for impact and the last thing is When you know all of this, you can actually like free your brain and that's a new level of freedom.
And that's when you can get a lot of time back when you create space in your mind. And then you go, okay, I know these are the types of things I need to do to market my business. You just go and do them. You don't second guess yourself. You don't overthink it. And then you have free space, time and energy to go and do other things like connection, networking, building another product, spending time with family, travel, all those things.
But if you aren't in that headspace, you don't have the strategy. It's really hard to move forward. So it's a blend of these two energies. And I'm absolutely so excited to share all the great guests. Yeah. Just, we're going down a different path and I'm really excited for you to be on this journey with me.
And again, I know I've said journey a lot, but there's no other word. We've discussed this, but be a content queen or king.
